WE
have a lively and thriving juniors and minis
section within the club,
catering
for 8 year olds to 13 years.
At
Clifton LHC we recognize the need to develop
talent through structured coaching and player
mentoring in a safe and friendly environment.
Our child friendly methods are also endorsed
by our holding the England Hockey CLUB FIRST
Award.
WE
positively encourage our juniors to develop
and work on their skills, by working in ability
graded groups and making progress via England
Hockey Stix Skills and other initiatives, combined
with our own coaches 'know-how' gained through
years of experience working with youngsters.
These methods help to produce some of the best
players in the county and a few will possibly
progress into Satellite development squads and
even talent camps too.
We
also run non residential Junior Hockey Camps
where our juniors can have fun for a couple
of days working alongside some of our 1st team
squad players.
We
provide competitive opportunities via Avon Junior
Hockey Leagues at Under 11, U13 and U15 levels
in which we have an impressive record, as well
as England Hockey's national Cup and Plate competitions.
When we believe players are ready to make the
transition to play in the adults leagues, initially
your child will be invited to train with the
Fifth Team and once confident are given the
opportunity to play for the 5's.
Alongside a couple of experienced adults in
the side, they have fun, gaining invaluable
competitive match experience and achieve some
quite remarkable results… come to CLHC
